Mandatory Gear

• Backpacking Gear

• • • Sleeping Bag (rated to 30°F or less) – Available for Rent from Creatio for $10/day
    • Sleeping Pad
      • Inflatable Pads are more comfortable, but can break
      • Foam Pads are more predictable/ safe – Available for Rent from Creatio for $3/day

• Personal Clothing

• • • Hiking boots (user preference, but highly recommended to purchase high-quality hiking shoes or boots with strong soles – tennis shoes will not work)
    • Camp shoes (rec. Crocs; flip flops, sandals, etc., but sturdy enough to walk around the camp area)
    • 2 pairs of hiking socks (Wool or synthetic, NO COTTON)
    • 1 pair warm sleeping socks (wool)
    • 2-3 pairs of underwear (Synthetic, NO COTTON)
    • 2 athletic t-shirts (wicking/quick drying, NO COTTON)
    • 1 long-sleeve athletic shirt (wicking/quick drying, NO COTTON)
    • Sleeping clothes (shorts, t-shirt) (NO JEANS OR COTTON!)
    • 1 pair of leggings (or long johns – for warmth on colder days) – Creatio does not recommend that leggings be the outermost layer – hiking pants should be placed over them)
    • Hiking pants – 1-2 pairs maximum (wicking/quick drying, NO COTTON)
    • Mid-Layers – 1-2 (fleece jacket or merino wool pull-over)
    • Down-Puffy Jacket (packable, to put on at night)
    • Rain jacket (Waterproof, not Water Resistant) 

• Personal Gear

• • Epi-pen and medication as needed (it is very important that you have your own – Please remember to include this information on your registration form)
  • 2 water bottles for a total of 2L capacity (Camelbak would be an addition to this – at times they break, so 2 bottles is necessary)
  • Headlamp or small flashlight 
    • Extra set of batteries for headlamp/flashlight
  • Buff or bandana (sun protection)
  • Sunglasses
  • Sun hat or baseball cap
  • Sunscreen
  • Mosquito repellent
  • Plastic bowl with lid (tupperware works great)
  • Metal or Plastic mug (for coffee, tea, hot chocolate, etc.)
  • Spork
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Glasses (if possible, bring glasses instead of contacts)
  • Journal
  • Bible (small packable)
  • Pen or Pencil

Optional

• Hiking poles
• Earplugs for sleeping
• Deodorant (we will all be smelly – this will have to be packed with the food at night)
