About This Trip
The 10th Mountain Division huts are a network of 34 huts in the Rocky Mountains. The huts provide a unique opportunity to travel the backcountry year-round, while staying in comfortable accommodations. There are 350 miles of suggested trails connecting the huts for plenty to see and experience!
Hut trips offer something for everyone, come prepared to enjoy friendship and adventure!

Abilities and Gear Requirements
PLEASE NOTE: No experience or special skills are necessary, but all participants must be in good hiking shape (ready to do very strenuous physical activity), and be able to hike/ski/snowshoe for at least 8 hours.
It is suggested that Participants have Intermediate/Advanced Skiing or Snowboarding capabilities and familiarity with varying terrain.
All personal winter gear must be provided by participants. (Hats, gloves, jackets, boots, etc.) and is not included. Backpacking gear and sleeping bag also required, not included. Some of these items may be provided by Creatio upon request.
Equipment Rental Information
Backcountry skis or snowboard rentals are NOT INCLUDED and all participants are expected to have their own set-up. Upon request, snowshoes can be provided free-of-charge by Creatio. Recommended location for backcountry gear rentals include Wilderness Exchange and Confluence Kayaks in Denver, and Crystal Ski Shop in Boulder, CO. It is recommended that participants rent an "Avy Beacon-Shovel-Probe Package" if they would like to attempt serious skiing or snowboarding in the backcountry. Not necessary for snowshoeing.
Basic Timeline
- Leave 4:00 A.M. Friday (2/24/23) morning from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Denver (600 Galapagos St)
- Ski/snowshoe to the hut during the day Friday
- Dinner, games, and hang-out in the evenings
- Fun/free day on Saturday
- Activities in hut on Saturday night
- Ski/snowshoe out Sunday morning back to the trailhead
- Return to Denver by Sunday evening (dinner included on the drive home)
